Almost every expensive repair in this category got expensive after the original failure. The roller jumps the track, the door binds, and the natural response is to try it again to see whether it still works. That drives a powerful motor into a jammed assembly, and each attempt bends a little more.

Pull the red release cord so the opener cannot drive the door, leave it where it is, and call. A jumped roller re-set the same day is a modest job. The same door after twenty more attempts can be a section, a track and a bracket.

Why We Ask What Happened

A door that jumped the track on its own, one that lost a cable, and one that was reversed into all present as a stuck door and all need different work.

The first is usually a worn roller or a loose bracket, and the real job is finding why so it does not repeat. The second needs cables, drum re-timing and an inspection of what the crooked lift already damaged. The third means checking the jamb and the opener rail as well as the panels, because impact force travels.

Honest About Track

Mild deformation can be worked back true and we will do that. A sharp kink or a crushed section gets replaced, because a straightened kink leaves a high spot that drags a roller every cycle for the rest of the life of the door. Charging you to straighten something that needed replacing is a repair you pay for twice.
